Which is your favorite and why?

Favorite? I like 'em all! I have lots of Gibson set necks (solid body & semi-hollow), Fender bolt-ons, and a Carvin and an Ibanez neck-through model. Each of them is a great guitar in their own right, each have their own strengths, and definitely have their own flavors and tones.
Fortunately, I'm at a place in life where I can comfortably afford to have the stable I own, and the opportunity to play them all. We play a wide variety of musical styles, so it's nice to be able to just grab the guitar that will nail the tones I'm looking for.
Stay tuned, Stan

I also am lucky enough to have a lot of guitars. I do enjoy playing my fenders, but I all ways seem to grab a gibby...

Yeah, when I'm playing for myself at home, I most often will play one of my Gibsons. But in the band, sometimes with two keyboards and a Hammond organ, our midrange can get kinda thick, and then I'll use something with more of a Fender flavor to cut through better.

I would have traded ya just about anything THAT day.... but now I'm glad that cash went toward a real 55 Paul. Didn;t you have WCR pups in there? What style were they ? James Thanks James. It's an 06 R-8. And yes WCR pups Filmore. Fabor Bridge and Tail piece. RS 500k super pots & CTS audio taper pots. With Russian PIO K40y caps

Fender, more for sentimental reason, as a 68" Blonde tele was my first good guitar, I bought it at a pawn shop in high school for $125 back in 71 ouch ! played Tele's and Strats through the yrs & only recently getting a little into the Gibson guitars w/ a Epi GT 56" I recently bought, so I'm liking it, the scale , tone etc.

Whenever I gig, I always have at least one representative from the Gibson and Fender clans with me.

I love my gibsons, but always seem to grab either my Tele with the P-90 in the neck position, or my 57 RI Strat with the soft V profile neck. It is a close call on the poll though.

Then I would definitely go for the Fender amp! I've owned a few, but never really bonded with the Marshall tone.

I have three favourites ( yeah I know, that is not allowed) but I cannot get a cigarette paper between them. I suppose I should presently say my Tele because it is the one guitar that goes to every gig whereas I take my old Strat or my Gibson alternate weeks.

My fav is my 1969 Gibson 335 with my Fender Blackface deluxe amp. Witnessing Freddie King in concert flipped me that way. Never been the same....;^)

Do I have to choose? It looks like there is a bias toward picking which ELECTRIC guitar you prefer. For electrics, I like my $1600 epiphone semi-hollow body better than my $160 Fender Stratocaster. :-)

What if the question was Fender or Marshall amp? Fender amp, no question - but the Peavy Classic series are so ' Fender" too

Thanks Stan- I thought you would approve. I went to an Electric jam last night and took my Gibson- first time I've done that. I am bloody glad I did because everything seemed to come together and I was hooked up. The guys there know me for being a tele player too. Curuiously, without he and I talking, a mate of mine turned up with his Les paul. Normally he has a Strat.
