Don't they have that backwards? Isn't that funny? The album name is "Papas and Mamas" by the Mamas and Papas.

Hayes Carll: Drunken Poet's Dream
I've been listening to Drunken Poet's Dream over and over again in an effort to learn this. Not actually the original, but a cover of it by Portland singer-songwriter Hip Hatchet, on a recording I made of a gig where I supported him (and contributed a little harmonica to his set) on his recent UK tour.

John Gorka: Houses in the Fields
This John Gorka song is one of my favorites, I consider it folk though he was played on pop country stations for awhile. I dug up this old video that CMT use to play.

Folk Soul Revival - Sweet Virginia
Folk Soul Revival "D'railed"
Folk Soul Revival (also known as FSR) is an American country music group. Its current members include Daniel Davis (guitar and vocals), Justin Venable (banjo, harmonica, and vocals), Brandon Sturgill (bass and vocals), and Dan Witt (percussion). The group was formed in Wise, Virginia in 2008 and regularly performs at regional festivals such as FloydFest and the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion. In April 2009, FSR released their independently-produced debut studio album, Good Enough. Their sophomore studio album, Words Off A Tongue, was released soon after in August 2010. They have since been named the 2011 Band of the Year by the Virginia Tourism Corporation. In 2012 the band released their third album named Prompting the Dapperness. The band stated that the name of the album was inspired by former member Allun Cormier.

The Furnace Mountain Band - Dink's Song
"Rattlesnake", Furnace Mountain
"Graveyard", Furnace Mountain
Furnace Mountain consists of Aimee Curl on Bass and Vocals, Danny Knicely on Mandolin and Fiddle, Dave Van Deventer on Fiddle, and Morgan Morrison on Bouzouki, Guitar and Vocals. Members of the band have been playing together since 1995, and grew up in the same area of Virginia on or near the mountain bearing the same name. Furnace Mountain will be releasing their 5th CD in May 2012, to coincide with their 3rd UK tour.
The band has graced stages near and far, from the Yangtze River in China to the banks of the Shenandoah River where they are the host band of the world famous Watermelon Park Festival each year.
The music of Furnace Mountain is at times lively and raucous, with spirited fiddle melodies weaving in and around the powerful rhythms of the bass and bouzouki. It is at other times poignant and poetic, with sublime vocal harmonies beautifully interpreting some of the oldest songs ever written. Furnace Mountain plays music from the American Appalachian traditions, as well as original compositions, and songs penned by their favorite song writing friends.

Thanks Jim. Sue especially liked "Graveyard"...Sue's Mother was laid in her grave this morning and the happy sounds of the fiddle brought out the only smile she's had on her face all day.
