A lot of the guys like Sonny Terry and say, Snooky Pryor, and some others, who did a lot in the early days of blues music, are getting kind of lost these days. With this new sort of harmonica craze I'm seeing- my harp players' group is approaching 500 members worldwide in under a year with no blanket promotion- the blues contingent is focused and second, third, and 4th generation pros and kind of forgetting the old founders and masters. People from the world over are joining groups like mine and posting everything from 70's metal to Bollywood to very complex symphony, to Broadway show tunes done on harmonica. In case anyone is curious- www.facebook.com/groups/1109912442677135/?ref=bookmarksAnother thing too is that the blues aspect of harmonica music is very far reaching. I get such a kick out of the real talent I see the world over, guys and gals emulating the early stuff and the Chicago stuff in places as far flung as Oz, Italy, and the Pacific Rim countries. Some of these folks are technically better than I am after 48+ years. It's a real eye opener hosting a specific group like that.

That they're taking up the banner and keeping the faith is a good thing, I'd say. Makes more sense to me than some kid "scratching" vinyl on a turntable and calling himself a "musician". Sorry I can't look up your group. I don't do FartBook. Whitefang

No worries, I know it's a double edged sword.
