Funny you found an article from the Houston Press. We have a somewhat active tribute band scene here. I haven't gone to see any of them, though. I was in a Black Crowes tribute band for a minute, but it didn't work out. I have a buddy in Dallas that has a Journey tribute band that is pretty good. They are called Escape, though there's one in Houston with a similar name, like Esc4p3 or something like that. For anyone that's on FB, here's our group where members and fans discuss tribute bands www.facebook.com/groups/352623011448861/And here's our page where announcements are made and such www.facebook.com/HoustonTributeBands

There are Steely Dan, Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac ones here periodically. Occasionally I see a Beatles one advertised. I haven't seen any of these so far but have thought on catching the Steely Dan one sometime. They usually play at a pretty nice club, 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. Actually most of the tributes mentioned play there including an upcoming Beatles one. 3rd and Lindsley Presents
