Might want to reconsider moving to MPN. All of the videos have been deleted and we are currently unable to post any. No, they have NOT been deleted. For one, they're simply hosted at Youtube and shared at MPN forums. Second, the admins are aware of the problem and they are working on it. It looks like it happened with the upgrade to the latest version of the forum software, which also gave us https and a secure site. forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/3002396/broken-youtube-links

This quest asked is impossible when the same old clique and guard completely refuse to honour Jim’s wishes. Thankfully, before Jim sadly passed away, he safely referred me to one safe forum haven of his, which is free of post editing oppression; but only remains on here. The evidence for this is shown when only five, mostly staff, at most: actively post daily on here.

As I have previously stated: I'm not sure why you feel you have any insight into what Jim's wishes were, but all the changes made while he was still around were made in consultation with him & had he not wanted them made he had the opportunity to voice that in both private & public discussions with me. If you prefer other forums, without an edit limit, then by all means post there. I'm sure they will be delighted to have you

I wasn't fully aware of the edit limit until I tried to edit an earlier post to add something I overlooked originally. Didn't really bother me, I just created another post. And it's more prudent to proofread a post and make corrections BEFORE you post them than to try to get back in before the "deadline". This doesn't always work for me, but then, that's MY fault! I'll just say keep up the good work. Whitefang

Whitefang I don't much like the edit limit myself, but unfortunately it seems to be the only option on Proboards to protect us against the kind of troll attacks we've had in the past. For me a better solution would be to have a saved 'edit history' for posts that have been changed, giving admin the option of reverting them to the unedited version if a user starts editing posts in bad faith. Alas, that's just not something the Proboards platform supports, even as a plug-in.

Or perhaps you need granting another Co-Administrator with full rights who knew and were entrusted by Jim, very well? Like me maybe. At least give my proposal a try for some short while. I can make some minor improvements, e.g., each user profile's website link can pop up in a new web browser tab - without navigating away from this forum. Integrate the Archived into this main forum, and if any change I make, then should restore this fairly promptly. This must be done by full democratic poll votes, not by autocratic means.
As far as this present forum goes, this is not how late Jim originally designed this forum. Quite a lot of users don't like this present design, clearly they no longer login and participate.

I have no problem with the design. I in fact like the fact it's design is different from the ones other forums currently use, which is becoming a bit too "cookie cutter" for my liking. But since too, I realize an online forum's design isn't about me, I endure. I just hate the way people leave when one or two other members disagree with them about something that really, in the big picture of life, is inconsequential.
Some lately come into long established message boards or forums expecting them to be just another FaceBook page and are disappointed to find they never were, nor currently aren't. And then, being used to FB, can't handle that other members are individuals, with their own opinions and ways of expressing themselves and aren't the "pod people" they've come to expect.
I like these forums and check it out every day. And I do hope it stays.

So what happened in the end? Are we still an active forum?
