Yeah, j, the newer stuff is OK too. But, it's not always "whitebread" for me too. Like.... "Mustang Sally"--Wilson Pickett "Sweet Soul Music"--Arthur Conley "Cold Sweat"--James Brown( most James brown works, but this one seemed to grab me most.) "Soul Man"--Sam and Dave "Respect" Aretha Franklin "Can't Turn You Loose"--Otis Redding and a real "oldie"---- "Stagger Lee"--Lloyd Price "Shotgun"--Junior Walker Oh, and although I like just'bout anything he did, for ME, the one I liked best from BUDDY HOLLY was..... "Rave On"! Whitefang

Oh, and some other earlier Seger that to me, STILL "kicks ass!"---- BTW-- ROBIN SEYMORE was a long time DJ favorite in the Detroit area from the mid '50's to the early '70's. First on Michigan's WKMH AM radio then in the mid '60's moving across the river to Windsor Ont.'s CKLW on which TV station he had his popular "Swingin' Time" TV show( kinda like a local "Bandstand"). I'd see him show up at one of the many CHATTERBOX teen clubs in the area in '67. Nice guy and very accessible. So, from '66--- And a year later---- The photo montage in the "Heavy Music" clip is an excellent display of Seger's early discography and local music history. His drummer's kit with those huge duct tubes attached made quite the impression at those bi-weekly Aquinas high school dances the summer of '68! Oh, and this somewhere in between ---- Whitefang

Well, the guy's no FREDDIE, but does a good job anyway. And lemme ask something that struck me back when the tune came out..... You couldn't hear it WITHOUT it being immediately followed by "We Are The Champions". But did anyone else notice( I asked a few others and they said they didn't) That when they sing the line in the chorus, "No time for losers 'cause we are the champions....." it resembles the taunting little "razz" kids did with, "Nyah, Nah nah NYAH-Naaaahhhhh...." ? Give the clip another listen and lemme know what you think Whitefang BTW---I think that resemblance was intended!
