Jolene is my third and last. And definitely best. She has always had my back and striven to give me her best, and she has succeeded. I am a better person for having her in my life.

If "third WIFE'S the charm", count me in. Nah second wife, got together after third meeting, once in Solana Beach Ca. and afterwords twice in San Antonio Tx. Well, you know I was referring to your third "run-in" that finally took. Alicia was my 2nd, and most likely the last. I can't fathom possibly doing better. Whitefang

I got off work at noon or so today and first thing we did was set up and played about a dozen songs outside by our rig. Some of the originals she's written and some of what I've written and she's done the guitar work on just can not be beat for me.

We leave this morning! About 5 hours drive. Impressions of the Rio Grande Valley: Plenty of hot cars an bikes tearing up the streets at night. Jet planes flying close by starting about 6 a.m. and still going into the evening. All the ills of big city urban blight and congestion and traffic without the benefits of big city venues and services. This RV park is really nice and the folks I worked with are top notch but outside the gate it's a jungle. Trash blowing everywhere. We took a run to South Padre the other day and half of it was city, half either wasteland or agriculture until we got to Port Isabel. Other than go into Mexico there's not much to see hereabouts. One flea market we checked out in Donna featured "live music". The act was a karaoke gal singing to Bob Seger's Katmandu. No audience. Funky place with a kind of patina over everything.
I think back in the day this was a decent area. This park is 40 years old and it's in good shape but the city has grown around it and brought the urban funk in close.
Bandera Tx is population under 1000 and it's 20 or 40 miles from the big city.
So here we go!

Well, the sign probably DID say "live music", but not "lively"! Whitefang

Here we are, 1 mile out of town. All set up. Cooler here and no jets, hot rods, or sirens. Whew... 6 hour drive. No looking back!

www.skylineranchrvpark.com/This is looking like home until spring. I met with 3 of the family who own and run the place today. Very nice ladies and I will be working with at least one of them. This place is very musical I hear and Thursday we may get into a bit of a jam with whoever shows for dinner. Bandera is a busy little town, known as Cowboy Capitol of the World. Lots of cattle were staged up her for the drives up Chisolm Trail way back when and cowboying is still a big motif here. Quite a few joints around. One is next door to the RV park here!

Staged up WHO? Jolene? Anyway.... save for one letter, I might have thought THIS is what you're talkin' about!(BandUra) As a wedding photog, I once did a Ukrainian wedding which had the groom's Dad(a master of the instrument) and a few other pros literally blowing me, my assistant and other guests totally away! Up until then I have never heard of this thing. Whitefang
