It is with great sadness that I have to tell you talk-music founder JamesP sadly passed away in hospital on the 10th June. I would like to extend my sympathies to his family and offer my personal gratitude for all the work he put in here over the years.

Doc GONE? DAMN! My sincere condolences go out to his surviving loved ones and family. I do though, wonder at the two week delay in letting us know. But Rest In Peace, Jim. Whitefang

I myself was told a week ago by a member who visits but does not post much. Personally I did not know if it was my place to break this news. I am not about to point fingers, I think those of us who know earlier just didn't know who should tell everyone. Now that the news is out, I hope we can all remember Jim for the kind soul he was, always acting in good faith and with good results. He invited me here not long after the place was founded when he saw me having a hard time with another forum which had no good moderating. And thanks to Jim and the folks who have stepped up here, this has been a very well modded forum. Sure we have trolls but bad behavior is simply not tolerated past an initial incident.
There is discussion about the future here. Maybe we need to share our thoughts for going forward.

I don't visit the site like I used to........I sure hate that Jim has passed. He always treated me very kind and overlooked a lot of my stupidity about how to participate in a forum and operate computers. I'm upset that he is gone but I do know that he is in a better place now. He was a great guy. Steve

You know we all kind of missed the 1 year date of Jim's passing. I just happened to think of it today and sure enough, we're off by 4 days.
I want to express major gratitude to Jim for inviting me to this joint. At that time, I was majorly fed up with poorly moderated music forums I had been a part of. Jim saw a post or two of mine on another forum and messaged me to come check this out here. Maybe because we have low numbers, I don't know, but over all this has been a very functional place to hang out. I know we embody the spirit of our founder, a gentle man who just did not care for needless drama.
So let me raise a figurative glass to Jim Pate, our man of the hour and year. Here's lookin' at ya Jim!
