A colonoscopy I underwent yesterday revealed nothing to worry about. One huge polyp according to the doctor, which he removed. I slept through the whole thing, and realized the PREP is far worse than the procedure. But, after already having dealt with the Wayne County, MI Friend of The Court, this procedure was small potatoes. Whitefang

Yep the colonoscopy is nothing much, it is the prep that is the hassle. I don't have to get them anymore, my primary care doctor just has me do the swab on the stool every year at yearly physical time with my blood-work, so far everything is OK.

Yeah, my doc gave me a couple of those home tests, but they've been known to have "false positives"( which was the case with me) and that makes getting the real deal necessary. Whitefang

I too have been through the routine. and am probably getting close to time for another. Maybe in a couple years or so. I went through a bladder infection, with blood clots and kidney stones same time. The urologist couldn't actually pinpoint the exact cause vs effect but got it taken care of and eliminated with 2 trips to surgery. Worst pain I've ever experienced and the emergency room person initially made it even worse as went beyond their knowledge or ability. This was just one year ago.

Huhn.... Last couple of times I went to an ER I left after being told what wasn't the problem. Lucky for me that the issues I went there with to begin with weren't life threatening. Seems lately(last several to 10 years or so) that doctors have too often relied on(what I call) "chart medicine" and rely too heavily on "one size fits all" treatments. That plus seemingly caring more about a patient's health insurance than their health. Whitefang

I am so satisfied with the doctors here in the Central Arizona desert. I was near death in 2006, and they fixed me up. It took 18 outpatient procedures over 6 months to get that done, and I am still breathin, so they ain't all bad.

I'm sorry, but based on the personal experiences of both my wife and I, I'm not able to say the same. Whitefang
