With recent expenses, Jo is thinking about generating a bit of extra cash. We have a pretty nice old Regal guitar which she used for slide for many years. After her vertebra fracture last March when she got back to playing guitar in about May, she discovered she could not play the smaller body guitar in her lap like she used to. Pain told her to do something different.
We had her big hollowbody Kay Trutone restrung and the action raised a bit and it's become her slide axe. Since that time the Regal has sat and not been played at all. I had thought to take it over and learn some lap slide with it but I have not done so. So it seems only right to see if we can sell this one off. Only problem is it's a few days until Christmas so the odds are against us doing much good with it just now.
It's in decent enough shape. No pickup. We're thinking put it on a market place and start at $150. Room for dickering.

It would have to be old as the company became defunct in 1954. It's gone through many different owners since then, currently owned by the SAGA Musical instruments Co. So, how old is the model you're discussing? I'd suggest checking eBay to see how much any of them sold for. I don't know if there's a "vintage" market for Regal guitars. Whitefang

When we bought it we could not find the exact model but it's from the 50's or earlier we were told by a guitar shop guy. !2 years ago we paid a bit over $100 on Ebay.

jbone Good luck in selling the item. I have my Hot Rod Deluxe up on Craigslist for the holiday season. Usually I put it up only on weekends and take it down on Mondays, but just maybe someone is looking for a deal for a Christmas present to him/herself or to a family member or friend.

Thanks DBM. So far I have gotten a few hustle texts. I tell them to call and they fade fast. I expect we may take it to a shop and see what we can get if CL and FB Marketplace don't get results after a while.

Did a 1/3 price drop, we'll see if that gets any nibbles!

It sold for almost what we paid for it. Minus a few repairs and sets of strings. Not bad for a guitar Jo used for about 12 years.
