Greetings everyone! It’s I Paul Kondig! I had deleted my old account, and decided to start 2020 off with a fresh new start! Hence the forum username change! Also, I wanted too step outside my comfort zone, and not just be my boring old self! I am going to make 2020 the year of me! Basically, I want to get out of the habit of posting stuff, about things I can’t do, and focus on things I can. I have tended to worry about not being good at anything, and not really trying. I want to be more involved on here. Try and contribute more, and not just pitiful woe is me threads. That’s in the Past.
I want to thank Pete for allowing me to join, and I would very much like, if he could remove all of my old posts so I can have a fresh start!
Again, thank you for allowing me back!

aka Paul

Welcome back Paul I'm afraid I don't think there's a way to delete your old posts without going through and finding them one at a time.

Well Paul, every day is brand new. Jolene and I move around a lot so we get to restart several times a year based on where I get a job and what venues we can talk to about gigs. It keeps things fresh for sure. We meet new people every new place and our goal is to visit as many places in the US as we can while we're able.
I spent 40 years in the work force, doing several different big careers and a lot of small fill-in jobs as well. Along with that I began seriously pursuing music as a sideline some 25 years ago. Definitely had- and still has- its challenges! It keeps me fresh and open minded.
Currently we're in Cowboy Country, Texas Hill country. Lots of western music here, which we don't do much of. sure, a little Johnny Cash and Hank Williams (senior!), along with some Americana original stuff and a few Bob Dylan numbers that will fit pretty well, but this may be a challenge to get return bookings.
We get out on the street and to farmers markets wherever and whenever. This provides a new kind of feel most every time out. Sometimes we are kind of ignored and sometimes we draw a crowd! These times will definitely temper a person. Ie., grow us a hide!
I encourage you to step out of your usual and challenge yourself to grow. It's where life lives!

Thank you everyone!
I know my username name is synth geek, and I love synths, but I also have a passion for antique phonographs! Go figure? Eh but what’s in a name?

"Phonographs"? I know at least a couple dozen millennials who you'd have scratching their heads if they read that! I remember that old 4-speed portable we had when I was a kid. Portable? Not so much to a 4-5 year old. Damned thing weighed a ton. But I loved it. Wish I still had it so I could play all those old 78s I've acquired over the years. That "made to look old" CROSLEY combo AM/FM; CD/Cassette/record player crapped out and I haven't had the time yet to find anywhere to repair it. Whitefang

Crosleys are crap, because they are made in China! It used to be an American owned company in the 1930’s and 1940’s. I have an Audio Technica turntable with a 78 speed setting, and a SHURE M78S stylus that works well. Although it is a manual machine.

Ach, well, my only turntable is a 32 year old Pioneer I got with a set bought cheap and in haste when I split from the ex. Before I could get my B&O stuff back she paid off a coke debt with it. The Pioneer is only 33 and 45. Whitefang
