I was watching a PBS program on The Crow Indians in Canada when they mentioned an old legend of a wolf & dog mix they called White Fang. Below is all I could find on Google search.
His mother was half wolf, half dog. His father was full wolf. He starts his life in the wild, but becomes more and more of a dog after he and Kiche, his mother, go to the Indian camp.

I've heard that story before, and Some have tried guessing I took the screen name from Jack London's novel. while still others claim it's because I'm a genuine sonofabitch. Actually, I took the name from a favorite TV character when I was a kid.... A-RAH-a-roo!(Whitefang)

Soupy Sales, I remember his show fondly, and I remember Whitefang on his show as well. Soupy was a real gas........ Of course I noticed that bit on the PBS Show and had to comment here because of the Fangster here.......

Yeah, my Mom used to tease me about never missing a "Lunch With Soupy". That show originated here in Detroit on WXYZ-TV at noon, and by the mid '50's, had a late night show(called "soup's On") that featured many jazz legends, new and established as guests. Among them, Charlie parker( shortly before his death), Miles Davis, Coleman Hawkins, Dexter Gordon and up and comers(at the time) Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker and others.
Of course, I was way too young to see any of those shows when originally aired, but over the years, old Kinescopes would appear on various PBS shows. A now long gone bar that at last gasp tried to convert to a comedy club(called "Joey's Place") had Soupy as an act once. What a great night! Whitefang

Soupy Sales was a real gas on TV. I watched him every time I saw him on the tube back in the day, then he just disappeared from the Philly TV stations back in the day, and I never saw him again.

Back in the late '60's, when his show was done in NYC, it was syndicated to a local UHF channel here, then by '69 it was gone. Then just occasionally saw him on "Hollywood Squares" and the like. Whitefang
