Very sad and a great legend, The local news related his earlier 1950's days in the Nashville area and onward. Little Richard

Sometime in the mid '60's( '65 as memory serves) my Mom was given some old crank up record player that had a few records down in it's storage cabinet. All 78s, one was "Cry"by Johnny Ray, "Singin' The Blues" by Guy Mitchell, "Jim Dandy" by Laverne Baker, and..... "Tutti Frutti" by Little Richard. Some of my friends voiced surprise that it was on a 78rpm platter, as a couple of them had older siblings who had it on 45rpm. And after my then 4 year old sister bounced into my room and jumped up on my bed, landing butt first on the record nobody after that believed it was EVER on a 78rpm disc. But I finally got PROOF! Bill Haley & The Comets were the launch pad for rock and roll, Little Richard was the booster that sent it into hyper space. Rest In Peace Little Richard, you were one of my all time rocker favorites.

Strange how that works. Like, the one most figured would be the first to go(Jerry Lee Lewis) is still kickin' it!
