So Jo and I had talked about doing one more CD since 2018 or so. I had a couple of songs written from way back and we have written a few more in the past couple of years so lyric wise we're about 2/3 of the way there. We have done several 10 song projects and it seems to work well for us.
Several things have kind of gotten in the way over the past 18 months or so. Getting re-equipped and on the road, and a lot of travel along the way, Jo's accident in March of last year which laid her up for a while. I fractured a wrist bone almost a year ago. And just kind of the general upheaval of moving a few times unexpectedly. Today Jo told me she's got 4 songs put to music as of this afternoon! Which I have not heard yet and she's planning to work up a few more before we go over anything.
The past couple of projects leaned more toward Roots Rock and Americana. She wants this one to be back into simple I-IV-V blues stuff, which we can definitely do. We also agree we'd like a drummer and bassist on this one as well and we have some guys picked out, along with a studio who has done work for us in the past. Of course this means we have to get all three in the same place at the same time and they are all in Arkansas and Mississippi at the moment! Plus we will want to spend a day just working up the material with the drummer and bass guy. Then possibly get the recording guy to travel and set up away from his home as well. It may come together the way we want and it may not. We are still very much in the pencil in stage as far and all that goes, and we do have more work to do right here.
Stay tuned!
