Just when we thought things might be looking up a bit, the new Crapola19 cases are rising both here in Louisiana and also in Mississippi. So whatever Phase 3 is we are not going to see it any time soon here. I think that's a full open of businesses. Texas has been seeing more cases as well. Which is where we plan to go in about 10 weeks.
We did one tip gig at a place very shortly after we arrived here a month ago and POSSIBLY we will play here at the park on the pool deck on the 4th of July. Otherwise we have struck out every place we've talked to. Everyone has been very nice but they have to follow guidelines a for real. It's gotten hot and very humid as well- when it's not raining- so street busking is out of the realm for now.
All that in mind we're trying to look forward to next season, if people will cooperate and let this crap die down. Of course the fear for me is that this society's treatment of live music will be stilted after this all settles down. It may well be that restaurants and bars will not be hiring live music, especially from other places, for some time.
We're STILL working on the next CD. And we're STILL hoping for the best in the future.

I'm sticking with the mask in public places. I really miss getting out to play music.

Summertime in my area used to be prime time for outdoor concerts, which too are suffering setbacks. From Pine Knob( now the DTE music amphitheater) to the former Chene Park Amphitheater( recently renamed the ARETHA FRANKLIN amphitheater) and MEADOWBROOK amphitheater (summer home of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and other music presentations) it's fairly vapid, live musically speaking.
It was, for instance, at MEADOWBROOK where I first heard and also saw THIS being performed...... (Mediterranean Concerto)

We may still be playing here on the pool deck Saturday. And tomorrow we're going to visit a couple of places to see what's going on and if we can get a gig.
The number of new cases here are high, I mean in Louisiana, not in this little place. Across the river in Mississippi I think they're rising as well, so it may not be good news.

I wouldn't push it, like too many others did and caused the new cases to rise again. You might have to be content with online performing and CD sales for now. Whitefang

We're going to do this one on the deck. Social distancing. Otherwise I think we're playing here at home when we can, working on new material.

We did well. Of course people did not distance from each other but supposedly sunshine and pool chemicals kill Crap19. Folks did keep their distance from us but it's how we set it up. We did get a couple nice tips! And a check from the manager as agreed. Despite some back issues lately we both kicked ass.
We will keep talking to places and maybe we'll see another gig or two. We love doing live music. I saw some little kids really kind of entranced with us today and it is so worth doing for that reason.

And regardless of the outlook for the near future, we're going to keep working on the new CD. Jo's back has to heal up more before we do much music but we both have songs written that need work on the lyrics and arrangement.

So it looks a little less dim today. Got the same gig we did Saturday, labor Day weekend! Circumstances permitting.

So it does not look as dim at least here in Texas Hill Country. We actually have some distraction and a real priority, which is Jolene's sight getting restored as much as possible. But there are place having bands on a regular basis. Not US a whole lot at least yet but even so. We do have date in 3 weeks and another in early January.
I'm seeing where there are live events in a few places across the nation. Tallahassee FL sand Buffalo NY come to mind.
