Wow. Seems to me the first two should have been put in the "Same name, different song" thread as the only similarity I notice is the title. But it seems, as both Willie Mabon's "I Don't Know" and Linda Hayes' "Yes I Know" were released the same year, We'd need to know which was first released and which just changed the lyrics to the other's tune. Very interesting post. Whitefang

Parrot 1050, "I Don't Know" by Willie Mabon, was released early in November 1952. As soon as the Parrot pressings were exhausted—before the month was out—"I Don't Know" was on Chess 1531. (Source:The Parrot and Blue Lake Labels - campber.people.clemson.edu/parrot.html) Linda Hayes's answer song "Yes! I Know (What You're Putting Down)" was released in February 1953. And so it seems Linda's "My Name Ain't Annie" is another "Answer record" this time to Hank Ballard's (Ballard the Detroit boy who first did "The Twist"). "Annie Had A Baby".
It does seem such a shame that these three(Mabon, Hayes and Ballard) never get the attention and credit for their contributions to modern music they so truly deserve.
