With the growth in the ITunes market, is recorded music going to be a thing of the past?
I still find myself looking through the bargain bins for good music. But with the mp3 craze, I admit I just download the music now. How bout you?

I download a lot via Itunes or Amazon but I have recently bought some CDs from a shop (shock horror) and of course could play them in the car. My Ipod doesn't connect to the car streo so often I burn a cd to play but it is a pain to do so.

I AM DONE with the CHEAP QUALITY of ITUNES and if ya have a PC ITUNES WILL WORK but remember it is a MAC program.
It requires Quick time, and several other APPLE downloads...
NOw if ya lose your music you can get what ya bought from a certain date back but still the quality is NOT that good and I prefer to spend 2 BUCKS more ona HARD COPY CD and upload it.
When ya make a copy from a CD it sounds good when ya make one from a downloaded song..... it has lost some of it;s quality during download and now ill lose even more though our computers cheap audio sections
Any CD made with a DOWNLOAD seems to SKIP, get hung up, and just not sound as good as if ya bought the CD>
ALso I think I TUNES is TAKING away money from the artists......
IF ya must download MP3 players work BOTH in CHEAPER MP# players which play on several Windows player and are much cheaper......
ALso if ya use MP3 for mate you can get a few dozen albums on a decent size recordable DVD
Since getting rid of ITUNES my music plays much better and NOT once has my MUSIC LIBRARY been a messor had lost items or just started acting up.
IF ya have a MAC ITUNES is OK I guess but if thisis music ya wanna keepspend the extra 2 bucks and get a HARD COPY !!!

For a while now every couple of weeks I've been stopping at Record and Tape Traders and picking up a couple of used cd's each time. They usually have buy 2 get 1 free or buy 2 get one for a dollar.
Problem is, now that my collection is starting to grow it's a little hard to remember exactly which ones I already own. Sometimes I'll come home with one only to find it's already in there.

I do the same thing.... with about 2500 cd's and 50 plus box sets,,,,I found I had three copies of a MAGIC SLIM ALBUM...oh yeah and two copies 1 in each car...... I try to buy stuff from Blues Revue now as I am not buying anymore BB or BUDDY albums cause there is one SONG on the alBum I do not have !!!!!! Same thing with Stones albums...... I with YOU HERB I liked it when we listened to TOP QUALITY with our 4 tracks reel to reel Ampeg's through GOOD Headphones..... listening to ROCKING THE FILLMORE !!!!! remember when we had to deal with a brief attempt at QUADROPHONIC.......I remember getting one for my car.... and then Panasonic offered trade in value 6 months later when still only 5 or so Albums were made in QUAD.....I remember there was JANIS BIG BROTHER AND THE NEW RELEASE PEARL.......THE WHO QUADROPHENIA, SANTANTA ABRAXSAS.....I think that was it and it SUCKED it was like early HI_FI or STEREO when one thing out of one speaker n another out of the other,,,,, kind of like how stereo guitars are ST JAMES

I still buy CDs but cut way back as have plenty good ones that don't get played enough. That and listen to Sirius, Pandora, some local and other internet radio. Every time I go to drop Sirius in home they give me a cheap deal for home and car.
Most MP3 downloads so far are free backing guitar tracks to play along with.

Lately, I've been buying music directly from the artist. Whether in person or from their web page.
