Received an email informing me that multi talented Mickey Baker died yesterday, born October 15, 1925. Wasn't at all sure where to put this so please feel free to relocate to somewhere appropriate.

Oh, that is sad. Rest in peace, Mick. Thanks for all you gave us.
No, I never had the chance to meet this gentleman, but he has impacted my musicianship in a big way. Early on in my strumming career I stumbled on his Jazz Guitar book, and I dove into it big time. It was incredibly difficult but I stuck with it for quite a while and learned some phenomenal chord grips that stretched my fingers in ways they had never tried before, and gave me some cool new chord colors to experience. Fast forward about three decades and I realized I no longer had that old book, but I did have Ebay, and I found a copy of his famous journal online and bought it. So I have revisited it from time to time, re-experiencing a touch of his genius. What a Giant!
If you want a challenge, I think his course is still in print, go get yourself one. I just checked and they are still available on Ebay for 6 to 9 bucks, and incredible bargain.
