Koechlin, Offrande sur le nom de Bach
For most of my musical life, insofar as I was aware of Koechlin's name, it was as the orchestrator of the obscure-ish Debussy ballet Khamma. I've now heard perhaps seven CDs' worth of his music, some of it I like a great deal (the original piano solo version of Les heures persanes, e.g.) some of it I can sort of take or leave. Thought I'd give this massive contrapuntal exercise on the motif B - A - C - H [Bb - A - C - B-natural] a try.
Cheers, ~Karl

The Dvo?ák is a beauty and a classic, of course! I'm not sure I've heard the Walton (though I am sure I have a recording).
We played the Dvo?ák down in Charlottesville (where I was doing my Master's). Simply exquisite.
Cheers, ~k.
