I had one friend on FB write, "I can't post how I feel about another actor overdosing because I would be told I'm not compassionate. So Happy Ground Hog day instead!"
The lack of sympathy for these kinds of things astounds me. I do wonder if some people do that to distance themselves emotionally, though.
But another wrote this.
"The man was a great father. His kids played with my one of my oldest and dearest friend's son regularly in the park. He showed such love, compassion and encouragement to his babies. He won't be remembered for that aspect of his life, but it's the first thing my friend texted me. He was one of us. A New Yorker. Trying to get by. Whatever takes away the pain for the moment. Let's all think about that for awhile. There might be someone right around the corner, or next to you that's hurting. We may never know. But we can all try. Once again I will always love your talent and your spirit PSH. Thank you all the beautiful art you left us."
