A rare Death of Isolde by Shirley Verrett and Zubin Mehta at the Avery Fisher Hall (after her Exultate Jubilate by Mozart). Have a look at her Alceste too,

'77...apparently a good year for the Dead and Verrett .... I couldn't allow this thread (which, incidentally, is moving at the speed of pond water) to progress any further without mention of one of my favorites, and indeed a giant among classical renditions of any kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, or species - that being, Furtwangler and the Orchestra of Radio Italy performing Wagner's Ring cycle during sessions between September and November 1953. This lovely beast covers 13 discs and may well leave you disoriented with its scope and grandeur. It comprises it's own 'Lego' box in the Furtwangler Legacy set and can be found in this independent release:
I just noticed the price through affiliated sellers - ouch! Heck, just buy The Box and get an additional 93 discs of Furtwanglerian brilliance for a fraction of the cost! link
Edit (4/26): Buy the Furtwangler Legacy box NOW...you'll name your next child/grandchild after me if you do!
