This item of a year ago was debunked and yet it still manages to find its way to the surface and mislead all over again. We even had it resurrected in the early days of this forum, but I can't locate it. FWIW the un-cropped photo (not used here) made it obvious that the suits worn were 1940s style. PS: Just remember it was an issue of Vanity Fair which in 2008 brought us the "new" RJ photo and one hell of a lot of controversy ensued.

Sorry being lazy.
I was indicating that there's a discussion of this subject here on the date I've given. I would post a link but now a further search isn't bringing it to light. B-i-z-a-r-r-e. Hardly important, more of the "same old" when it comes to this topic.

Hardly important, more of the "same old" when it comes to this topic. Yes, I recall the discussion...but I couldn't find it either. I was posting this in the "New" Photo Section. As more information surfaces, I thought we could update the threads. It seems most knowledgeable people don't think it's RJ or JS. But others believe it could be RJ given the size of the fingers. Anyone else want to weigh in?

Tony Standish writes insightfully about RJ, his environment and his place in the Delta Blues canon in Jazz Journal, October 1962
