I've resumed work on rather a noisy, busy piece for full symphonic band, The Nerves; I am planning on it running 7 minutes (and it is not quite two minutes long at present). It will serve as the first of four movements in Karl’s Big (But Happily Incomplete) Map to the Body.
Cheers, ~k.

I see that I am late in reporting it here . . . but I finished The Nerves last week:
Yesterday evening I finished a new (short, easy[-ish]) arrangement of My Lord, What a Morning for my church choir. The idea is, that even though they are reading it for the first time tonight, we sing it this Sunday. The challenge is, that I play my customary rhythm games (varying the repeat of the refrain, e.g.) and, again, few of my choristers read well, so it is a matter of teaching them by rote, and their patient application.
We shall see.
And work is proceeding nicely on the contest piece, which needs to be done and submitted a week from Sunday night.
Cheers, ~k.

My organist asked me to write a new cl/org piece (which is already a great improvement upon her predecessor )
She specified a tune, and I said, Sure. Here 'tis (MIDI) . . . I expect we shall play it in September.

Well, did it really only take me three days to compose the third Intermezzo?
I have a piece I need to write for an October concert now; but finishing White Nights by year's end is not Crazee Talk.

Weird, I thought I was editing the post, but instead it quoted. And I do not see a button to delete the superfluous post.

Puzzled. I seem unable either to delete or to edit a post. So, I could not delete the post with the outdated YouTube link; nor could I edit it down to (near) nothing.
Ah, well. There is work to be done.
I have had the idea of extracting Intermezzo III and adding a narration. Will put the question to the test, soon.
Cheers, ~k.

Cheers, ~k. Karl, after the recent issues with a certain Moderator deleting posts of other members, our Administrator (Pete) limited the ability to delete a post after a specific time. I'm sure if you post the complaint in the "Suggestions,Comments, Complaints" section, Pete will address for you. I really enjoy your work. Thanks for sharing.

Violinist Mei Mei Luo and my old mate Paul Cienniwa are reviving (I say reviving because Paul played the premiere, this is the first that Mei Mei is playing it) my violin/harpsichord duo, Plotting (y is the new x). The concert is in Delray Beach, Fla. two weeks from this past Sunday, and I shall be part of the pre-concert lecture. Among much else, it is a great pleasure to find that I am part of practically a full-page spread in a local periodical.
Cheers, ~k.
