This is one of the best classical guitar music CD's I've ever heard. Its 100% Spanish sound will quickly sweep you off your feet while simultaneously melting away any anxieties you may have. With works like Bizet's Habenera and Rodrigo's Concierto De Aranjuez, several of the works on the album are easily recognizable. Most of the album is performed on solo guitar, though several of the tracks are accompanied by a couple of instruments. If you don't already own this album, don't wait any longer - you will not be disappointed. If you buy it on iTunes or Napster, its title changes to Spanish Classical Guitar. If you still have trouble finding it, look up "Antonio de Lucena."

I'll keep this short... if you love the guitar you need this recording along with the other Deutsche-Grammaphon complilations (The Art of Segovia and the boxed set). The recordings are beautifully remastered!

Before I manage to scan the sleeve of my favorite Segovia LP (a DGG showing the famous Alhambra lion's court), here is an extended CD reissue of an old LP which I have always loved. Alirio Diaz may not sound technically "perfect" by today's standards, but he had a great feeling, and in this album his playing is as fascinating in the older, baroque pieces as in the Spanish repertoire. Several songs, including De Falla's Danza del molinero which my guitar teacher, the late Ramon Cueto used to play with a real flamenco touch, were not part of the original LP (I confess the sound of the short sample I've just heard on Amazon is terrible compared to the rest... and the picture is of very little interest, but the music is really worth hearing)
