Jerron "Blind Boy" Paxton plays "Mississippi Bottom"
Singer Jerron "Blind Boy" Paxton is just 26 years old—but you wouldn't know it from the sound of his music. Originally from Los Angeles, now based out of Ridgewood, Queens, Paxton performs blues, jazz, folk and other American-born styles with the skill of an old pro. He's no mere nostalgia act though: What makes the century-old songs vital is Paxton's equal adeptness at a variety of instruments and his captivating stage presence. At our live session he quickly began working the crowd and taking requests, and before it was done he'd cycled through banjo, guitar and fiddle.

We saw these guys open for Buddy Guy the other night. The won the crowd over pretty quickly. They're definitely having fun and it's infectious.
