It's a copy of a circa '63-68 Gibson non reverse Firebird. Into the oblivion for just under $200 new. Quite amazing for the price.

It played okay out of the box but I made adjustment to the truss rod, lowered strings heights and lowered the pickup heights. It plays and sounds fine now but may tweak it after a bit. The pickups are very strong output wise so that is the main reason I lowered so to get better clarity along with able to use more amp volume. All the machine and fit work is very tight tolerance. Unlike the original Gibson the neck is a bolt on. It has the same scale length (25.5") as most Fenders. I'm not sure if the original Gibson reverse Firebird was this length. I haven't opened the back control cover yet but all in there, volume/tone controls, etc. work fine. The folks that sell these on eBay are out of Ripley, MS and sell a variety of different models. The original Gibson reverse model was actually made from '65 to '68 according to their history writing. I almost bought on in '67 but opted for a Telecaster.

I can't seem to find out much about Cozart guitars( where made, when started, etc.) only that they make a wide variety of guitars, notably an electric 12-string. And far as I can tell, mostly available through EBay. What more can you add?
But I did manage to find this.......
The guy don't think much about 'em. Whitefang

I once had one of those non reverse Gibson Firebird guitars. only mine had the P90 Pups. I did not keep it long, as I had a Les Paul Custom and a 67 SG at the time, both of which I liked a whole bunch more. The non reverse Firebird could be the least liked guitar every to be in my possession.

Whitefang The guy almost kind of seems to know what he's doing on a sub $150 guitar. His amp volume-sound settings for testing are horrible. I obviously didn't have those issues? at all in the one I got. The Cozart is out of Ripley Ms but the guitars are most likely from an Asian source although there is no country of origin on the guitar. They may be getting around that if parts are from different countries and/or some of the work is done in Ripley MS. I almost bought the Gibson P90s version in '67 but opted for a Telecaster but still liked the oddity of the non reverse design. This one plays well now with medium/low action like typical standard set up Gibson, stays in tune, intonates accurately, controls work fine and pickups are quiet hum wise as humbucking. The pickups actually have some built in balance as the neck is a slightly lower output wind and bridge slightly higher output wind. No doubt these have ceramic magnets but not a negative for me. It is fun to play.
