So which is it for you? I own 3 dogs and 3 cats and while it would be difficult to cite a preference since I love them all, I guess if I was forced to choose it would be dogs.I don't have kids so this is our family.

The earliest i can remember asking for a dog was 5 years old ... my parents finally gave in when i was 10 and bought the family a miniature poodle ... that dog lived to 16 years old and when i was away in university she died ...the next dog i bought was born in the day my childhood dog died (total coincidence) ... i was 21 years old and he was a bichon cross and he lived to 17 years old ...my current dog was a gift ... she is 12 years old ...

I'd be hard pressed to cite a favourite. At a push I'd say a dog ( I miss my two little ladies) though we currently have three cats and I love them all. Sadly they are all rescue cats and a bit messed up and they don't seem to like me very much but I persevere and occasionally get a purr out of them. It is my job to feed them too -they warm to me a little at feeding time but that is about it. Dogs have owners and cats have staff they say- absolutely true.

I love dogs and cats. I only have cats right now. I also have horses. My favorite animal on the planet is the horse. They are not really pets like cats and dogs, but they are partners.

We're currently owned by two shelter cats. They qame to us after our strays passed on due to old age at 21 & 23 years old! The 'kittens' are a hoot and sound like a herd of buffalo runnin' through the house. Meet Hansel & Gretel...Hansel weighs 21 pounds and Gretel isn't far behind at 16!

It's been a dozen years since I had a dog but I do love them. These days we're a 2 cat family with my buddy Bandit that I call my puppy.

I love your gray cat. We have two of them. It is almost impossible to tell them apart. This is the picture that my daughter took of the youngest one while he was at the pound. I saw the picture and had her go fish him out of the pound.

Ours came from the shelter as well. Sue went in for a visit two days after we lost our oldest stray at 21 (and said no more, that's it!). She sat down in the cat's socializing room and Hansel promptly nestled in around her neck while Gretel settled in her lap. They came to our house the next day!
