In researching Ralph Peer's recording sessions, I see that he takes credit for arranging and recording the session with Louis Armstrong and the Hot Five in 1925.

Don't know who did the arrangements, but I have the music, and I love it. And his Hot Sixes, too. link

Arranging in the sense of making it happen, or providing musical arrangements?

Arranging in the sense of making it happen, or providing musical arrangements? Good catch guys. I meant organizing not composing the musical arrangement. I found it enlightening to learn that Peer, who is known for recording the Bristol sessions (the big bang in country music) was so instrumental in both blues (coined "race records) and Jazz. Peer did several sessions beginning in 1925. His first trip to New Orleans to locate Jazz performers to record, wired back and said, "I'm coming home, there isn't any Jazz in New Orleans". smiley-laughing024
