I have a Special 20 In C Hering 1932 Vintage in D and In a the A is pretty badly blown out I also have a bunch of those JAMBONE Harps They seem to play Ok to me But the price is gotten too much for me. Every time I Look they are MORE they have quadrupled in price in the last ten years

I understand your frustration Julian. Back a couple of months ago when I was feeling sorry for myself because arthritis prevented me from playing guitar any longer, I thought I would take up the harp. I managed to find a pretty good set of 3 on Amazon for 80 bucks...but as you said, $30 buck for a decent harp. I have spent a few hours on these and they do a great job for me, but as I said, I'm still learning. We have had a thread on people who repair and optimize harps. And it seems the more experienced (I won't say "old" smiley-laughing024 ) players do replace the reed plates themselves. For 3 quid you can replace the reed plates in that Hering. Hohner Special 20 Harmonica 3 piece Pro Pack keys of G,C,A. from Amazon Hering Reed PlatesI would definitely recommend you keep that beauty in working condition. Thanks. Jim
