Which ones do you like for Bass, Harmonica, Guitar, Keyboard or even Home Stereo or Theater system?

Good question Earleg.
I loved the old alnico Jensen speakers in the fender amps of the 50s and some of the early 60s Oxford speakers used in blackface ampss. But we can't overlook the 'Celestion speaker used in the Marshall ampss either.
Great thread!

I can't say. I've never been one for swapping out speakers. I know what I like though when I hear it. I have occasionally thought an amp could perhaps benefit from a speaker change but i wouldn't know what to go for.
My gigging amp, a Laney VC30 has 2 10 inch Jensens and I love the tone of the amp and have never felt inclined to change it. I've played similar amps but with 12 inch speakers from another manufacturer and preferred mine- but that could be because I prefer 10 inch to 12 inch- who knows?

Is that the amp Little Walter used? I saw an amp like his once with the fold out of 2 speaker cabinets. Guess it doubled as a PA. Think it had 8" speakers. Friend (RIP) has or had a Harmony 4 x 8" cabinet that he played harp though powered by Epiphone Valve Junior. Thing sounded great. Think all 4 speakers were different brands. I was pricing around on speakers and anything decent or new with an alnico magnet now s really way up there in price. Alnicos like Jensen and so on really have a great sound. Eminence make some like the Canis and sound very good on their site demos.
I just have speakers with Ceramic magnets. I got some various speakers over the years cheap from a friend so would try them out in different Fender amps mostly Deluxe or Deluxe Reverb or in a 12" extension speaker cabinet.
Same guy had JBL 3-way stereo speakers in the '70s and I always loved the sound of them.

I've been curious about that same 2x10 model as saw one local on CL. Does it sound kind of like Vox, Marshall, both or neither? I have Jensen C10Qs in my Vibrolux and like the sound.

I would say it is a little Vox like- certainly not as loud and not as heavy. I would say that it is like a "lite" version of an AC30.

JBLs are probably the best sounding speakers for clear sound and output be it guitar, bass or audio. Altec Lansings are very close also. Both are worth their extra weight and shine best when driven a bit or more. Check the prices for a 12" guitar JBL on E-bay or other.
