What is your opinion on the subject of reissues? And which record label does the best job of reissues?

In terms of the larger box sets, Mosaic is at the top of the heap. The Mosaic Select 3 cd sets or the larger box sets can contain 4 or more discs. The remastering is well done and the booklets are full of very informative info with great photos and comprehensive discographies. www.mosaicrecords.com/ Blue Note used to have an excellent reissue series but sadly that pretty much has ended since it hasn't proven profitable for the label. Verve has done some nice reissues although that looks to have slowed if not ceased. Concord continues with there reissue series occasionally releasing a number of releases. |
