Saxophonist Robert Fowler has sought out, collected and commissioned by transcribing arrangements from the GMCJB which he is currently playing in a present-day British version of the c.1960 13-piece orch. I will see them at Southport in a few weeks' time and I notice they are also booked for the Norwich Jazz Party in May. The stellar lineup is

Reeds: Robert Fowler, Alan Barnes, Karen Sharp, Alex Garnett, Iain Dixon
Trumpets: Bruce Adams, Steve Fishwick, Martin Shaw
Trombones: Mark Nightingale, Adrian Fry, Sarah Williams
Bass: Dave Green
Drums: Steve Brown

Great gig! Trombonist Adrian Fry told me they're taping gigs. it would be great to see an album sometime!
