I've been a member since what I believe was close to the first public availabillity of this forum. As a relative beginner I should have spent more time here but didn't. I can't find the first threads that kicked off the forum but my recollection is the raison d'etre for this forum was that other forums such as MBH are heavily populated by pros and experts who have concerns that are different from the typical less experienced player. There are those of us on the other site who need what is offered here. And some of us are considering recreating what you've already put a large amount of effort into. Your comments woud be most appreciated before I do or say more. Thanks!

The big ice storm up here knocked out power and internet for several days so been out of touch. Got a question. I can't recall how I first learned about this site. Was it introduced on the MBH forum. If so, could someone point me to that MBH posting as I can't find it. Thanks.

Found the January 5, 2013 MBH post which announced to that forum the availability of Talk Music Harmonica. I wanted the announcement as I wanted to ensure MBH was comfortable discussing an alternative. That looks okay. There are those of us on MBH who would like a forum with multiple threads that's a touch more geared to our needs as advancing players with a bit less of what's more important to pros and very experienced players. This site might fit the bill. Hoping to keep all harmonica players connected and informed.

Hi, I'm looking in on SmokeJS's recommendation (thank you). I've been reading and posting on MBH for some time, as I started learning from Adam's materials. I didn't know that this (talk-music) forum existed until now but am interested in it. I was the one who asked Adam for a beginner's thread/forum on MBH as the main form, for the reasons laid out by Smoke above.
I don't have a particular axe to grind, my intention is to hook up with other learners. I'll be interested to read the discussions here. I'm still keen to get something going for learners on MBH, particularly based around Adam's fantastic youtube videos.
