I own the Mosaic set "The Blue Note Stanley Turrentine Quintet/Sextet Studio Sessions". That's a real fine one.

Stanley Turrentine was one of the main sounds that brought my interest to jazz. When I was in High School, I was listening mostly to R&B. The quiet storm R&B stations at that time were playing a few of Stanley Turrentine's CTI records. The sound of that saxophone just knocked me out. I went out looking for Stanley Turrentine records, which then led to jazz becoming one of my great loves in life.

John raised a great point - how he arrived at Jazz. I went to Newport to listen to Folk and ended up hearing Miles Davis doing Bitches Brew. Loved Jazz ever since, even though I came to like the sound of Swing more than Bop.
