I came across a compilation CD of his recently. I first heard him in a TV series in the 80s called the Beiderbecke Affair which featured one of his songs in the theme.

Super series, James Boland and Barbara Flynn. Turned quite a few of my work colleagues of the time (1985) into discovering Bix. Dobell's Jazz Record shop in London's Charing Cross Road sold more Beiderbecke LPs than they had done for quite sometime.

Yea it was a great series, and it spawned two sequels. The funny thing is the main theme, which is deliciously catchy, is a tune by someone else thats based on a piece by Biederbecke. By the way its Bolam not Boland
