When do you change your strings?
When one breaks, When they sound dead, Routine maintenance schedule?
I usually change mine when they sound dead.

I will add, I don't like coated strings, and I feel theygo dead more quickly.

I use coated Elixirs and change them on my gig'n guitars every four months or so. I play plugged in mostly so sometimes the older the better.

I also use Elixirs and I get about 5 or 6 gigs out of them ( that is two one hour sets per gig)and I then change them whether I need to or not. I clean my strings off after every gig too though I am not sure if that is necessary with Elixirs but it is a habit for me.

When loosing ringing sound, showing deterioration, tuning issue or string(s) making tuner flutter. Seems like around 30-40 hours playing time here on a set till needing changed.
