A name I'd like to add here is Jim Alfredson. I first heard about him from Greg Nagy, who used to play in a band with him. The band was Root Doctor from Michigan. Then Greg went his own way to pursue a solo career as a guitar player and a singer, while Jim was hired by Janiva Magness 4 or 5 years ago. But Jim also leads his own organ jazz trio called Organissimo. The band has 5 CDs out, and a few months ago, Jim released a tribute to the late Big John Patton under his own name.
