Which guitar is best suited for the blues...acoustic, electric or resonator. Now I know it depends on your taste in blues - aka Chicago or Delta or Piedmont, etc.
I'm an old "country blues" kind of guy, so I'm partial to the old acoustic.

I went with acoustic because I prefer Piedmont Blues but all 3 stand on high ground in the blues.

While I play both, I like acoustic pre-war style country-blues the most by far. I almost think of electric-blues and acoustic country-blues as two separate genres of music. (There isn't a whole lot of similarity between the music of say Charlie Patton or Blind Boy Fuller and that of Albert Collins or BB King!)
Playing country-blues I prefer my J-45 generally (with my L-1 for Blind Blake/Robert Johnson-esque type tunes and my National for slide). I prefer my ES-347 or ES-175 for electric-blues. (I usually favor hollow-bodies over solid-bodies, but an LP or Tele definately does have its place!)
