What are some of the "under-appreciated" jazz albums you know and like? Especially this track:

Super obscure, but a Canadian production I've always liked.
A few more under-appreciated favorites:
If there is such a thing as an under-appreciated 'Trane recording, it might be this one (but I like it a lot):

This one is said to be a classic but never seems to come up in conversations and so on. Attachments:

Nothing particularly new here which is likely why it's overlooked. But this release has fabulous sound quality.

You may find this in the bargain bin but it will become a staple in your rotation: Chick Corea and Anthony Braxton improvise a great duet.

And That's a good one! I have a reissue CD on 1201 Music, which is my most-played Hawes recording. There are so many "under-appreciated" albums, especially if you consider under-appreciated artists... This is one I really like, though probably not "objectively" RRK's best:

Under-appreciated Jazz Albums...At the risk of being trite...ALL of them. More specifically, any of the LPs by Yusef Lateef. Lateef doesn't seem to even come up in conversation when Great American Improvised Music (known to lesser mortals as "JAZZ") is expounded upon. Lateef was an expressive Tenor Saxophone man who was equally adept on the Flute, Bassoon and Oboe (all of which he used to good effect on his LPs). In addition to the foregoing he played a range of far eastern instruments (Including, but not limited to, shanai, shofar, xun and arghul and was at the forefront world music, if you will, before we called it that.
A personal favorite of mine is the album "Before Dawn" (1957, Verve Cat. no. MGV 8217). Here's "Open Strings" to illustrate what I mean:

What are some of the "under-appreciated" jazz albums you know and like? Especially this track: Fabulous. I've not heard of this guy before and I'm not mad keen on the trumpet. But this is good.
