Kind of like the thread on guitars that changed the world, what amps did the same? For me, it all began with the old Fender Tweed Champ amp. and then there's the Fender Blackface Champ and the Marshall "Bluesbreaker"

Vox AC30 is one I'd add to the list.

The Fender Deluxe Reverb is still one of the most used in studio recording along with the Princeton Reverb. I saw the Crickets and Los Lobos use DRs just one per player live (miked of course) in larger venues.
The DR shows up in clubs quite a bit although see some similar size and output other brands like Dr Z, Vox AC, Fender Blues Jr.

One of the best sounding guitar amps I ever owned was the Roland JC120. The distortion wasn't worth a flip......but I was considered a "clean" player anyhow. Although I used it sparingly, the built-in stereo chorus effect was really lush and pleasing to my ears (remember this was back in the 80s and 90s) on certain songs and types of music.

I remember the Roland JC120 and agree with everything you say.
