Sadly, until I read this obit, I had no idea who he was. What a great contributor to the genre. I'm still looking into what to get next from Hi Records. I have I'm Still In Love With You but that's it.

Over several decades Cilla Huggins of Juke Blues championed recognition for "Teenie". If I recall she interviewed him for Juke Blues. Marc, remind me.

Sad to read this. He is one of my very favorite R&B guitarists. Just on backing Al Green, Teenie played some of coolest inventive parts. He would just weave into a texture with grooves and nuances on those recordings.
