Well, After three months of agony on my wife's part, she's finally approaching pain free. Somehow all of her previous back surgeries took a horrible turn and left her in excruciating pain for the past two months. The docs were able to pin it down and she had major surgery last Friday.
Basically, all of the previous surgeries (since 2004) had to be undone, then re-done. She's still in s lot of pain but it's post surgical pain and not the screaming pain that she was in two months ago. She's beat. She's resting. And we hope that she'll soon be pain free and able to walk.
Thanks to everyone who sent good vibes and prayers. they're working!
Dan

Well, here we are in September already. Sue's problems have lasted untill last week. A crew of doctors finally came to agreement on an acceptable treatment. She had her first solid food two days ago after not being able to eat for over a month. All of the prayers and good wishes worked. She's got her appetite back and is making a herculean effort to ger her muscle tone back. She lost almost 30 pounds in the past 5 weeks and everyone was concerned.
She had a full meal last night and drove her car today for the first time in three months! Life is good!

I hope things continue on the upswing. My mother-in-law had a big surgery a couple of months ago and it kind of seemed like she had given up. She showed very little interest in recovery, building back her strength, or eating. But, she finally started to do those things and while her trajectory is still slow, she has been making progress. It took forever, though.

Well, Sue started eating real food last Saturday, and this past Sunday, we actually went to a party and saw all of our friends for the first time all Summer. Today at the docs, she got a clean bill of health!
We both shared a sigh of relief.
Thanks for all the prayers and good vibes!

Belatedly I'll add my best wishes for continued recovery. I definately agree about a positive attitude and I also believe that visualising getting better really helps too.
