Seeing this has reminded me that fifteen years ago Ace issued an excellent CD of lesser known Henry Stone blues recordings compiled and annotated by Ray Topping.
In 1998 Stone himself reissued it on his fledgling Rockin’ label. A few years later as released it yet again slightly revamped as BLUES FROM THE 50s. Don’t know if any still available but might be worth picking up as a "used" item. Here's a track list from Rockin' The Blues (featuring Earl Hooker, Little Sam Davis, Jimmy Wilson, Eddie Hope And The Mannish Boys) Rockin' HTCD 5502. Somewhere on the internet there used to be an interview with Stone but may have since disappeared. Earl Hooker - Alley Corn - Sweet Angel Little Sam Davis - Goin' To New Orleans - She's Good To Me Earl Hooker - On The Hook Little Sam Davis - Goin' Home To Mother - 1958 Blues Earl Hooker - Jammin' - Ride Hooker Ride - After Hours Johnny Lewis - Jealous Man - She's Talking All My Money Leslie Louis - Ridin' Home - Don't Do It Again Jimmy Wilson - Alley Blues Lightnin' Hopkins - Walkin' The Streets - Mussy Haired Woman Willie Baker - Goin' Back Home Today Eddie Hope And The Mannish Boys - A Fool No More - Lost Child
