I was surfing for some Chinese flute music and this was the cover photo: Here's the pic I took in 2005:

It's very relaxing. One is a side blown, one is an end blown and one is a slot blown. Each has its nuances and each puts forth a different attitude. All are relaxing. The wife & I enjoy them very much. Dan

Well, I'll have to update my distraction...I just purchased a Mountain Dulcimer. I've been considering building one but this one sold for less than the price of the kit I was looking at!
I'll probably still build one, but I'll bet that the wife will want it!

Cool. Can you post a picture? I have played one before, but I have never owned one.

Sure can! The one I bought is a "Teardrop" dulcimer..because of it's shape (mahogany ply back & sides): The second is a kit to build a walnut hourglass shaped dulcimer (all solid woods)

Here's a photo of the walnut intended to be the top...well, instead of covering it up with the fingerboard, I've orded some Sitka Spruce for the top and I think I'll use this piece for the back:

Well, Both dulcimers are here. The teardrop is a student model that I just couldn't say no to at $50. It needs new strings & a cleaning. It's a Black Mountain model # 26 student model. The hourglass is a Folkcraft kit. I used the walnut intended for the front as the back piece. Way too wildly figured to be buried under the finger board. The work has begun on the walnut version:
