Ads ya know so much emphasis is put on what woods R used in building a quality guitar. Gibson is known for its Mahogany body n necks but recently during the government problems, went to TONE WOODS n a BAKED maple neck with a mixture of saw dust like material and frets purred into a mold n a fingerboard that looks like Ebony comes out.. Some of the stores (GC) were seeking the a midtown classics Customs when they first came out as Ebony... These guitars quickly failed n most owner very disappointed in quality , tone n in some cases fingerboards coming loose.
Then we know Fender got its name from its ONE piece Telecaster, n Early Strats only soon to be making two piece n now as many as 2-4 piece bodies where YA might as well use anything, with the small pieces being glued together U lose a decent amount of tone n the wood could have produced, sadly is now blocked with glue n cheap, wood.
So recently I was looking at the James Trussart Metal Teles, LP n other models.
I take my own amp when I try a guitar with a price tag like this so I took my Black face original 66 Black Face Deluxe Reverb
I could not tell the difference between my Tele Custom ( humbucker n single ) and the metal ones or my LP vs the Metal LP
So is the tone in the wood? PICKUPS? STRINGS? AMP, or is it the style,of the guitar? n it Will, sound good no,matter what it's made of?
BUT my one piece 56 and 80s 52 re-issue are one piece n U can certainly tell the difference between the one piece n two piece bodies...
Makes YA wonder what is the science behind tone??
Apparently more than what we thought.....Maybe the guitar is so simple we don't see why it sounds like it does, maybe it's NOT wood or electronics but thundering of the body n how,it makes the atrocities nig resonation give off the perfect time..
