Is anyone aware of the old blues harp players doing "country" music. I know blues artists like Leadbelly, Mississippi John Hurt, and Sam Chatmon did a lot of crossover country (or country crossover into blues) but what about the harp players? For instance, did SBW I or II ever do a train song like Orange blossom Special?

Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee did a lot of folk type/country blues type songs. One of their popular ones was Rock Island Line.

That is a good version. He does a good job on that. Rick Epping now plays harmonica along with a concertina; kind of odd music he plays imo.

Just listened to him playing with the concertina in Ireland. Now, I've always been a huge fan of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Jimmie Fadden blows a mean country harp. Jelly Roll Johnson has been around for a few years and like you said: one of the great session players. Who doesn't like the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band?
