I'm saving up for the Mosaic Beehive box. I've got most of the material on LP, but I have an almost inexplicable desire to pick up the complete collection. I appreciate the Mosaic production and presentation.
I'm looking forward to the opening of a Blue Note branded nightclub in Honolulu. Honolulu is my least favorite regular-client site; it's totally devoid of culture and almost completely without intellectually stimulating diversions. A jazz club won't completely change that, my it would make things closer to "tolerable". On the other hand, I harbor some fear it will be a US$100 cover and two drink minimum, with only "safe" acts.
If my schedule holds, late January will be my annual "reunion" with my recorded music collection. It's a chance to hear whatever I want for a week and to refresh my MP3 player for the year-to-come.
How 'bout you?

Re. live music, nothing specific, but I intend to pay much closer attention to scheduled events in my "general area". There are many good events an hour or so's drive away, but I have to search out schedules/announcements/ads. Not just jazz, but rock, world music, classical, "new music", etc. Example: In summer 2014 there was a rare live performance of Robert Ashley's "Perfect Lives" (an oddball personal favorite) about 45 minutes away. I saw an early announcement, but forgot about it and wound up missing something I'd have "given my eye teeth" to see! Recordings: saving up for the Mosaic Clifford Jordan and Beehive. I've heard basically none of the Beehive material, and have to wonder how often I'd listen to certain discs, but am strangely attracted to the set.

Mainly Thanksgiving here but am working and milling around in our basement to clear more unneeded *stuff* out. While doing some of that will delve into CDs that haven't been played in a while.

A concert by Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Centre Jazz orchestra in Hamilton, Ontario on Dec. 7.
The same week, on Dec. 11, an Oscar Peterson tribute concert in Toronto, Ontario, featuring, among others, Kenny Barron and Benny Green.
I have a ticket for both.
