[I'm sure Tom1960 and John T got this, but I'll post it anyway. Tom already clued me in to the RSR CD 104]
I just received the following e-mail update from Dr. Mark Feldman of Reservoir Music (Kingston, NY):
To our devoted fans:
There are no new releases, nor will there be any in the future. We made this decision following Jon Mayer’s “Nightscape” session in September, 2008. With the decreasing sales of CDs, it did make any business sense to continue spending the money that we did on our sessions. I give those labels who continue to release CDs loads of credit for their efforts.
We have repressed four titles which were out of print:
RSR CD 104: Ralph Moore “Round Trip” with Brian Lynch, Benny Green, Rufus Reid, Kenny Washington, and Kevin Eubanks guesting on two tunes. This session was remastered by Allan Tucker of Foothill Digital with significant improvements of the original sound.
RSR CD 117: Nick Brignola “What It Takes” featuring Randy Brecker, Kenny Barron, Rufus Reid, and Dick Berk
RSR CD 124: Jay McShann/John Hicks “Hootie & Hicks – The Missouri Connection” This session was also remastered by Allan Tucker to balance the sound a little better. For me, Hicks sounded a bit under recorded in the original mix. The change is subtle, but significant.
RSR CD 129: Peter Leitch “A Special Rapport” with John Hicks, Ray Drummond, and Marvin Smitty Smith. Leitch considers this session to be one of his best.
Unfortunately, two of our titles are now out of print and will be be repressed in the near future:
RSR CD 111: Don Sickler “The Music of Kenny Dorham”
RSR CD 123: Nick Brignola “It’s Time”
We sincerely thank all of you for your past support.
