I'm looking at converting an old warped neck dread I have kicking about into a lap slide guitar with a nut extension. I was just wondering if anyone here had attempted such a thing & if so are there pitfalls I should be aware of?

OK...I've bit the bullet and placed my order for a Rondo SX Lap Steel guitar... It's inexpensive, but the reviews by some pretty good steel guitarists is adequate for me to try my hand at something I've never done. Now, any suggestions from the peanut gallery on which tuning works best, and what are some good lap steel songs to begin with? ===================================================================================================== OK...just came via UPS. Here's a brief clip of how it sounds. drive.google.com/file/d/0B4ANUagZztAcN1ZrUGIyMl9yZDQ/view?usp=sharingNow, here's my take. Every guitar player should buy one! Great sound - P90 pickup. 36 fret 22 1/22" scale length. Easy to tune, wide string spacing makes it easy to play notes. I love the sound...but I'm just learning.
