Well I got curious about something called Kwela music, which is basically a genre of tin whistle music in South Africa. Someone posted a link about it on Facebook and I found a tune that I recognised from a TV ad, but it sounded different. The guy playing it was called Jack 'Big Voice' Lerole http://instagram.com/p/BfWFVvylJhi and so I thought, hmm I must try that on my whistle. So I recorded a version, transposing from F to D, because my whistle is a D whistle. http://instagram.com/p/BfWYdIzFz1p Then the oddest thing happened. His son, Jack Lerole junior, liked my post and commented on it. And so therefore I got to looking at his account and followed him. Interesting that the tin whistle should take off like that in South Africa!

This one was in the UK Hit Parade in the mid-1950s.
